The Challenge
A major dairy processor in Scotland was facing increasing difficulties meeting discharge requirements due to expanded production capacity. Their existing treatment system could no longer handle the higher organic loads and fat content in the wastewater.

The Solution
VDZ Aqua designed and supplied a treatment system consisting, a WPF flocculator for chemical conditioning, and a older model DAF unit for efficient separation of fats, solids, and organic matter. The system was engineered to handle peak production flows while maintaining consistent effluent quality.

The Results
The new installation achieved consistent compliance with discharge requirements even at maximum production capacity. Fat removal efficiency exceeded 95%. The compact design fit within the available footprint without disrupting ongoing operations.
