Compact Low-Height DAF Solution for Manure Processing

Melkveehouderij Van Dorp Netherlands 2026
1

The Challenge

The client needed an effective wastewater treatment solution within the constraints of an existing, low-height barn structure. After mechanical separation of manure using a drum screen and press, the remaining wastewater still contained fine solids and dissolved pollutants. Limited installation height and space made it difficult to implement conventional treatment systems.

2

The Solution

A compact, low-profile Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit was supplied and installed, specifically designed to fit within the restricted building height. The system was integrated downstream of the drum screen and manure press, treating the remaining process water to remove fine suspended solids and residual contaminants.

3

The Results

The installed solution enables efficient polishing of the wastewater stream, producing significantly cleaner effluent suitable for discharge or reuse. Despite the spatial limitations, the system delivers stable performance and enhances the overall treatment efficiency of the manure processing line.
